Walking in the Footsteps of our Ancestors - New Moon Sunday

August 4th @ 7:30 am Hawai'i time

Pacha K’anchay, Yanakuna, Colombia; December Solstice Synchronized Ceremony

Aloha Kākou,

Join us this Sunday, August 4th at 7:30 a.m. Hawai’i Time for the August New Moon gathering.

In the spirit of renewal and fresh beginnings that the August 4th New Moon brings, we are honored to share with you the powerful message Pacha K'anchay shared at a recent New Moon ceremony:

“To all our grandmothers and grandfathers, a great blessing for this day. We have come from doing a lot of work; we've been gathering with a Council of Wisdom Holders, the Council of Elders.

From the spirit of creation, our Elders have spoken of the importance of caring for life in this time. They have said they have spoken of the importance of the unity of mind and heart. They say that when we hold this unity of mind and heart, that is when we are able to be in connection with our ancestors. And they have spoken of the deep importance of honoring our ancestors. Because as we walk, they are holding our hands, so we are walking in the footsteps of our ancestors, we are walking these steps they cared for in life. And we are here trying to understand how, under their practices, through their practices and their paths, they were able to care for life.

It is important to understand that the Elders, when they are together, the grandmothers, the grandfathers, and wisdom holders, they are sending energy of wisdom to the entire planet. When they come together our Elders are the Pillars of Wisdom. Some are from the Amazon, which is the uterus of Mother Earth. They come from the north, south, east and west. We have been walking the word, the message that they have given. They have said: you come to us and ask us what to do regarding climate change. What to do regarding the changes that have happened in the world, such as wars. But we are not the ones responsible for the wars or for the harm caused to Mother Earth. Ask us how to care for Mother Earth. What to do for her. That is why we are coming together around the world to ask: how are we going to unite our wisdom? How can we unite and synchronize our ceremonies? The Mamos in Colombia are caring for the heart of the world. Those in the Amazon are dancing for the well-being of humanity. Those with the lagoons, the waters of life, are holding out for the mind of humanity to open.

Each one is doing their part and we unite each of our roles in this one work together. Humanity will help us sustain this. Each group does their part. Mamo Lorenzo is doing his work. We are doing our ceremonies in order for everyone together to unite - heart, mind, word, life, and essence. We need for all of humanity to enter into a deep connection of mind in song, in feeling, so that we can all advance together in this sacred thought of the protection of life because this is the natural principle of life that we exist in. We can't lose more. We must reconnect ourselves with this natural principle of life - of existence.

Today, all of Mother Earth is speaking through our hearts. And it is the Elders who are translating the words that she is saying.

So, the Elders say, we are cleansing the path so that all can advance well. How is our heart? One day, we will realize that every tiny action that we make makes an impact and that every small action can be a pillar that can sustain life. We are all responsible. This is why we continue in this word—this path—finding the base of wisdom and walking forward with what we feel inside our inner being.

We can help them when we continue to walk the path of the original word. When the wind was born, it whispered, and it is the wind’s words that we speak. When the water sings, we sing its songs. When the mountains breathe, we breathe their breath. We need to cleanse, purify, and heal to advance in connection with them. This must be our thought from the heart.

- Pacha K’Anchay, Global Coordinator for the Council of Indigenous Sages of Colombia

Inspired by Pacha K'anchay, Mamo Lorenzo Izquierdo Arroyo, and Kumu Hula Puna Kalama Dawson, we gather in response to a global call to action from the Council of Indigenous Sages of Colombia. Their invitation aims to synchronize Indigenous ceremonies across the globe to raise the frequency on Earth and harmonize humanity's relationship with the natural world.

Your presence and participation are vital in creating this coherent field of energy. Together, we can contribute to a positive shift, fostering a deeper connection with ourselves, each other, and our shared Earth.
