This Sunday: New Moon Ceremony ✧ Mamo Lorenzo returns to Kauaʻi

New Moon ceremony, Sunday, September 21st, 7:30 am Hawaii time

Aloha Kākou,

"Your heart's desires have the power to heal the world." ~ Kumu Hula Puna Kalama Dawson

In this deeply moving New Moon teaching, Kumu Hula Puna Kalama Dawson shares the Hawaiian concept of hālia—our heart’s true desires—and reminds us that the simplest acts of love ripple outward as medicine for the world.

Through tender stories and profound ancestral wisdom, Aunty Puna calls us to return to what matters most: living each day with intention, gratitude, and mālama—caring for one another, for Earth, and for all our relations.

“We have the power in the relationships that we share with one another… to make a light shine, and that gives other people hope.”

Kumu Hula Puna Kalama Dawson

As this September New Moon arrives on the eve of the equinox threshold—a moment of perfect balance—we are invited into this teaching. To pause. To honor our own heart’s desires. To bring them into order, as Aunty Puna says, and to offer them as gifts of healing to the world.

🌿 Return to the Origin with Mamo Lorenzo on Kaua’i

As we honor this equinox threshold, another doorway of deep listening opens here on Kauaʻi.

We are honored to welcome back Mamo Lorenzo Izquierdo Arroyo, spiritual elder of the Arhuaco people of the Sierra Nevada, Colombia.

He will be offering a 5-day Sentada—a sacred practice of stillness, cleansing, and renewal.

This is a rare and precious opportunity to receive Arhuaco teachings here on island with beloved Elder Mamo Lorenzo. There is still space to join.

September New Moon Ceremony

A Sacred Pause at the Threshold

This New Moon comes just before the autumn equinox—a threshold when light and dark stand as equals. Our elders remind us that at this time, the veils grow thin and the wisdom of both seen and unseen worlds is most accessible.

On this day, Indigenous elders from many traditions will share their people’s ways of honoring this transition. Together, we will enter stillness, breathe, and listen in ceremony.

Date: Sunday, September 21st, 2025

Time: 7:30 AM Hawai'i; 10:30 AM PT, 12:30 PM COT, 1:30 PM ET, 7:30 PM CET (Confirm your local time here)

Across the Earth, countless circles will also be gathering in deep listening and reflection. We enter as one strand in this greater weaving—a shared field of presence, coherence, and care.

All are welcome in this circle.

Every month, as we gather across continents and time zones, something shifts. The isolated becomes interconnected. The scattered finds its center. The forgotten remembers itself.

Your presence—exactly as you are—contributes to this field of coherence.

Sustain this Sacred Work

These New Moon ceremonies are freely offered to all. Your donations help sustain this work and nurture the creation of educational resources that preserve and carry Indigenous wisdom forward.

Every contribution is a thread in the blanket of peace we’re weaving together across the world.

Our Shared Impact

Every time we gather, our circle strengthens the preservation of ancestral wisdom, supports the protection of sacred territories, and creates bridges of understanding between traditions.

Your presence matters.

Let us gather in this sacred stillness. Let us return to the breath of our becoming.

E hoʻi i ka hanu. Return to the breath.

Warm aloha,
Your Kaiāulu ʻOhana
