Listen with the Heart ~ Pacha's Message + April New Moon

Pacha K'anchay and Basil Brave Heart, plus April 17th New Moon ceremony

Aloha Kākou,

Something powerful happened during our March New Moon ceremony.

Pacha K'anchay, Yanakuna, former Global Coordinator for the Council of Indigenous Sages of Colombia, joined us live from Bogotá, speaking from within the ceremony itself.

At that very moment, hundreds of Indigenous Elders from across Colombia were moving together through the jungle in an Amazonian ceremony for cleansing darkness and pain.

"I am telling you not a history from the past. I am telling you a history that we are doing right now. We are moving with hundreds of elders through the jungle, speaking, telling, listening, making the fire, making our dances, drinking our medicines. This is happening right now."

Pacha K'anchay, Yanakuna, former Global Coordinator for the Council of Indigenous Sages of Colombia

And then, his invitation to all of us:

"Please make a fire. Please make a prayer. Please make your song. Please make your dance. Go to a sacred place and put an offering. Open your heart."

There is something different about hearing from someone in the middle of it, in real time, as it unfolds.

Pacha also called us to listen with the heart, with the spirit, with the voice of the soul, to the voice of our Mother Earth. Not only with the ears or the eyes, but deeper.

A Message from Oglala Lakota Elder Basil Brave Heart

Our friend Hilary Giovale shared the following message from Oglala Lakota Elder Basil Brave Heart, with his permission.

Although we are facing challenging times with diminished voting rights, cruel treatment of our fellow human beings, an unjust war, rising prices for gas and food, climate change, and increasing Christian nationalism, we still have power.

Our power can be accessed by turning toward the sacred. Here are some ideas:

Give thanks every morning by greeting the sun, praying with your water, noticing your breath, honoring the beauty of Creation, or listening to music that brings you peace.

Join with others in your community and take action to protect what you care most about: vulnerable communities, feeding the hungry, land and water, voting rights.

Turn off the TV, news, and social media and connect with nature. Put your bare feet on the earth for 10 minutes.

Pray for those who are suffering and pray for peace throughout the world.

A disruption of the sacred natural order of the Universe is being revealed during this time. Do not be afraid as painful realities come to light. Let's listen for each other's hearts and honor each other's truth. This is a moment of clarity that can lead us toward greater compassion, unconditional love, forgiveness, and unity.

Don't worry. Things will be taken care of. Order always comes to balance chaos.

Mitakuye Oyasin, Basil Brave Heart, shared by Hilary Giovale

Called to Go Deeper?

Our Ancestral Wisdom Collective follows the rhythm of the moon through weekly gatherings with Indigenous Elders from Hawaiian and Arhuaco traditions. Each lunar cycle brings a different practice: synchronized ceremony at New Moon, First Quarter Moon cultivating coherence together, Mamo Lorenzo's teachings at Full Moon, and Aunty Puna's wisdom at Last Quarter Moon.

Members receive full archive access to past ceremonies and teachings, connection with fellow wisdom keepers around the world, and a pathway into the living field of practice.

Together, we're weaving a blanket of peace around the world.

You are warmly welcome in this circle.
