“People have to express their creativity and you have to have modern thinking today. But I feel we have to remember the past. That doesn’t mean we remain in the past, but without our traditional ways we have no foundation…”
Kaiāulu supports and acknowledges the indigenous practices and traditions of our global family.
This wisdom about returning to our foundations echoes across Indigenous traditions. From the mountains of Colombia, Yanakuna Elder Pacha K’anchay reminds us why listening to these ancient ways matters now more than ever.
"If you can see in different parts of the world, the animals are moving — in Yellowstone, in Africa, in South America. The waves in the ocean… the Mother is trying to speak with us, and the spirits are listening. And now the humans need to listen to what's happening."
These are not the words of a climate scientist or news reporter.
They come from Pacha K'anchay, Yanakuna Elder representing 115 tribes and more than 1,000 Indigenous Elders from Colombia — speaking from a seven-day ceremonial gathering where tribal leaders are asking the question we all feel:
What is Earth telling us?
"This is not the end of the world that so many people are speaking about. No, this is the time of change, because our Mother Earth is building a new time."
"Right now the planet, our Mother Earth, from her heart, is speaking to us, and we need to open our hearts and our ears to understand it. This is a historical spiritual moment for the whole planet, and we are here to understand it."
"The Mother is speaking — through the animals, the oceans, the stars, the shaking of the Earth. Our work is to listen, to open our hearts, and to walk with her."
The elders have been preparing for this moment for generations. They are calling us to remember what we have forgotten: how to listen when Earth speaks.

And while these words can feel immense in the face of all that is happening, they are not a call to do everything.
They are an invitation to take one step.
To slow down. To breathe with Earth.
To join in ceremony, adding your voice and heart to a collective field that strengthens life.
We warmly welcome you to join us on August 22nd at 7:30 am Hawai'i time for our monthly New Moon Ceremony.
Zoom details below.

Support this Sacred Work
These New Moon ceremonies are freely offered to all. Your donations help sustain this work and nurture the creation of educational resources that preserve and carry Indigenous wisdom forward.
Every contribution is a thread in the blanket of peace we’re weaving together across the world.
Every time we gather, our circle strengthens the preservation of ancestral wisdom, supports the protection of sacred territories, and creates bridges of understanding between traditions.
Your presence matters.
Mahalo nui for walking with us in the spirit of Aloha,
